Friday Moment of Zen

Finally Friday, amiright?!?

Today I am talking about 4 ways that I find my moment of zen. Life gets hectic, that we can all agree on. With so much to do and so little time, I sometimes don’t even realize how burnt out I am. This is why I think it is so important to set aside time to do the things that bring you to your happy place.

Spend Some Time With My Puppers

As you may know – I am completely obsessed with my children (dogs). I work a 9-5, so I’m at the office all day and then I have errands and happy hours and friends to catch up with, so I feel like I never see them. Nothing beats cuddling with my girls as we fall asleep, but I miss the days when I was home and could share all day with them. Whenever I have some time to myself, I just go sit in the yard with my girls and soak in some sunshine. It so relaxing and rewarding to spend time with the furbabies who mean the most to me. If your a dog person, you’ll understand what I’m talking about!image-1

Get Outside for a Walk

Any day that I can get outside and go for a walk is a good day, in my book. I’m not the super outdoorsy type, but I love a good walk along the water. Luckily, I live in an area where boardwalks and beach trails are everywhere. I get my puppers or sister and get outside. What can beat fresh air, salt and some sand? Thoreau was on to something about nature being the best remedy …image-4

Read A Good Book

I love a good book. Ever since I can remember, I have always loved to curl up with a book and get lost. In the summer, my butt stays put in the pool with a book and some iced coffee. Reading is such an easy way to escape and be somewhere else for a while. I love a good murder mystery, but I’ll read just about anything. 2016 Favs: Yes, Please – Amy Poehler, I Am Malala – Malala Yousafzai & Sharp Object – Gillian Flynn. Trust me, you won’t regret these reads.

Catch Up On My Programs

Like my grandma says, I’m always catching up on my “programs.” I don’t spend a whole lot of time watching TV, but I am currently watching a number of shows. Since it is few & far between of me sitting down and binging, I always enjoy the chance to catch up on whats going on in my TV family’s lives. What did we think of the season finale of How To Get Away With Murder?? Shonda is a legitimate genius ..

Tell me some of your fav ways to relax and unwind after a long week – I’d love to know!

With love & lilies,
