Happy Thursday! Any exciting plans for St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow??
In today’s post, I am going to be talking all about how I wake up and know it is going to be a good day. Whenever these things happen, I know the universe is on my side. Some of these things happen everyday, and other not so much, but I always try to keep these little things in mind to remind myself that I am too #blessed to be stressed 🙂 So without further ado, and in particular order (except the first, obvs. the most important!), signs that today is going to be a good day!
I always feel happy when I see this crooked little face 🙂 My girls are obviously the most important things in my life, so every day that I get to spend with them is merit for a good day! Not to get all philosophical and deep (serious eye roll), but I always try to remember how blessed I am just to have my girls and family and a couple of good friends. I have so much more then so many people, and remembering that these relationships are what makes life valuable has really trained my mind to be happy every single day. The power of thought is a real thing, people!
If the sun is out, even if it is freezing (is winter ever going to end this year?), I know it is going to be a good day. I feel like I have a veerryyyy mild case of seasonal depression, where I am just a happier human as soon as spring comes around. Even though I sit in an office all day, knowing the sun is out and the birds are chirping makes my heart smile. We’ve had some beautiful days recently – mixed in with some snowy, freezing, dreary days – and when I know it is nice out, I like to run out for lunch and walk around the center of town for a little while. A little fresh air and sunshine does wonders for the mind!
When my hair and make-up cooperate without me having to struggle makes for one happy girl. I usually curl my hair once a week (Monday morning) and my curl will basically stay in for the entire week (since I only wash my hair once a week – Sunday’s). So in the beginning of the week, my hair will look perfect, good, okay – and then Thursday rolls around and I have to start getting creative to try and hide the grease. I basically have it down to a system at this point and I can tell the night before if I need to throw in a little extra dry shampoo or if I’m definitely doing a braid the next day. But I live for the days when my hair looks good on the first try. I try not to get too cocky when this happens, though, because next is make-up and I never know how that’s going to work out. There are days when I legit have to redo my eyeliner 3 times and then other days it looks perfect on the first try. Why can’t everyday be that easy?!?
Probably the biggest contributor to me having a good day is if my coffee is done right. I am ashamed to say that I am one of those people who goes to a coffee shop every single morning for my coffee. I can’t help it, I’m an east coast girl who loves her iced dunkin. I have a definitive ranking of the best Dunkin’s around, so I always go to my favorite one to up the odds of a good coffee – and usually they make it well! Whenever I take that first sip of coffee and it is the perfect brew, I know that only good things are coming towards me today!
What are the things that set up a good day for you? Are any of them the same as mine?
With love & lilies,
